The 1st International Congress of Attention to Sexual-Affective, Bodily and Gender Diversity aims to cover a multiplicity of issues related to the LGBTI+ community around the general axes of inclusion, equality and tolerance.
During the Congress, the general situation of the LGBTI+ community in both Spain and Latin America will be dealt with in relation to various aspects, such as the conjunction between LGBTI+ identities and childhood or adolescence; the situation of migrants, refugees and people of colour; and the situation of the elderly and those belonging to the spectrum of functional diversity.
Furthermore, the Congress intends to highlight a whole series of initiatives aimed at making sexual-affective, bodily and gender diversity visible in the most varied contexts, such as: education (both in terms of teaching and in the areas of socio-educational accompaniment and the prevention of bullying towards LGBTI+ minors); equality plans at different educational levels, including higher education; developing tools for creating inclusive and equitable communication and language; and a specific section dedicated to hate crimes towards LGBTI + people and studies on activism for the rights of the LGBTI+ community.
Beyond these specific lines, new thematic areas may open up throughout the process of receiving communications, posters, symposia and workshops; all of them of special relevance within LGBTI+ research and professional practice.
